Who controls your data

What we collect and why

Eligibility enquiries. The details you provide (name, date of birth, contact details, postcode, employment, income band, deposit and the credit situations you tell us about) are used to assess your enquiry and, with your consent, to introduce your application to appropriate lenders. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and your consent for contact.
Contact details. Used to respond to you about your enquiry, including a confirmation email when you submit the form.
How you found us. When you enquire we record the campaign labels from the link you arrived on, the page you landed on and the pages you viewed before enquiring, so we can see which advertising works. This contains no personal data and is stored only for the duration of your visit until you enquire.
Analytics. With your consent only, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage. IP addresses are anonymised and no personal or financial information is sent. See our cookie policy.

Credit searches

Submitting the form does not run a credit search. If, after we have spoken and you have agreed, we run a soft-search eligibility check, and if you later make a full application, the lender may search your file with one or more credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax or TransUnion). A soft search is visible only to you. A hard search is recorded on your file and visible to other lenders. Each lender's own privacy notice explains its searches.

Who we share it with

Lenders on our panel, to assess your application (they act as independent controllers); our IT, email and hosting providers under contract; and authorities where the law requires. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with marketing companies.

How long we keep it

Website enquiry records are automatically deleted after 90 days. Where an enquiry leads to a finance agreement, records are kept for as long as our regulatory obligations require (normally six years after the agreement ends).

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email enquiries@northwestcar.group to exercise any right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
